|"The Flamboyant Genitalia of the Eucalypt", 1998|
This painting is purely a celebration of beauty. Bev and I stayed at a friend's house at Port Campbell for a week on the way to a festival in Warnambool. It is an amazingly beautiful place, the weather was great and the fishing better than I want other people to know, but thing that struck me the most was the tree in the front garden. The contrast of red and green, the depth, and the sheer fertility of the plant are not exaggerated.
Acrylics on Hardboard.
