|"Silverton, Ghost Town #1", 1996|
After the basic colours of this work were put down, I painted shovels, picks and mining scenes all over it with a grey wash to give the earth texture. Most of this is now obscured by the rest of the work. The old bits of china are found all over the abandoned town, as are the old nails left behind when it was dismantled. I painted in the spear head as a reminder of an even older history.
